College Watch: UMD Bulldogs Split with Winona on Wednesday

The University of Minnesota Duluth, which was defeated twice earlier this season by Winona State University on March 29 (8-6 and 3-1), split an afternoon baseball doubleheader with the Warriors today at Bulldog Park. The Bulldogs won the first contest 9-8 before dropping the nightcap 11-2.

Prior Lake's own Tony Doherty cranked two solo home runs and almost connected for a third in the fourth inning but the ball caromed off the top part of the fencing in left field for an RBI double.
