Season Pass Holders invited by Shakopee Manager Gary Schleper to SWARM THE SCHLEP NIGHT 7/5. 

 PLABA passes valid at Shakopee for a makeup that was to take place with the Prior Lake Jays as Home Team/Host but was rained out 6/24.  Your PL Jays will be home team at Joe Schleper Stadium at Tahpah Park Wednesday 7/5 7:30PM.  The unusual arrangement suits both teams schedules and is a makeup that must be completed prior to Section 3B playoffs that start 7/23.

Tournament Recap

St Louis Parks Chris Johnson drilled a 1st pitch fastball into the trees at Prior Lakes Veterans Field of Memorial Park for a walkoff homerun to take the 6-5 victory for long time tournament participant St Louis Park over the Minneapolis Lakers in the Tournament Championship.  The Lakers took runner up honors in their second year after going 0-2 in the 2005 Invitational.  The Hampton Cardinals captured the Consolation Champions trophy allowing the least runs and having the largest differential between runs allowed and scored at 11 Allowed and 25 Scored for + 14 in their 3 games.  Hampton was also runner up to Champion Green Isle in their 1st appearance in 2005. The PL Jays and Mudcats, Tourney hosts, squared for the 2nd straight year for Sunday action and had a clean, well played contest that saw Joe Loftus prevail on the hill for the Jays over Andy Hanson for the 'Cats in a PL pitchers dual.  Every participant team had a victory in the 6 team, 3 guaranteed game format.  Congratulations to the Prior Lake Jays Jesse Shidecker who prevailed in the Hoppe Bats Homerun Derby Saturday by sealing the victory in the finals with 2 metal bat clouts in the finals estimated at 350'+.  Thanks from the PLABA to: Hoppe Bats, City of Prior Lake Parks Maintenance Dept,  volunteers, teams and fans for another fantastic PL Hardball Invitational Tournament!

Opportunities to test your skills at the MLB Midwest Scouting Bureau and Minnesota Twins are rapidly approaching.  The Bureau compiles report accesible to MLB Teams for follow up and will be Tuesday June 20 at Tink Larsen Field in Waseca at 9AM. For the Twins free agent tryouts, Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on June 19, outside Gate H, with drills getting underway at 9:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. At the conclusion of the first day, selected players will be invited to return to the Metrodome on June 20, for a second day of intrasquad games.

The annual Prior Lake Hardball Invitational tournament kicks off on Friday, June 9, 2006.  Teams in the field include: Prior Lake Jays, Prior Lake Mudcats, Rosemount Black Sox, St. Louis Park, Minneapolis Lakers, and the Hampton Cardinals.

Legion / Jays Claim Victories

The Prior Lake Lakers American Legion team took it on the road for their 2006 opener in Waconia.  Behind the crafy pitching of Ben Wartman, and solid performances at the plate by all of the team, but Lakers fought back in the 7th inning to earning their first victory of the season by a score of 9-6.

On Tuesday night, the Carver Black Sox traveled to Veterans Field for a showdown against the Prior Lake Jays.  The Jays with a slow start (1-7), increased their record to 2-7 overall with a win over Carver by a score of 13-11.  Excellent pitching behind Corey Lang, Adam “The Cooler” Cress, and Jake Kraemer, combined with impactful hitting by Cress and Jesse Scheidecker contributed to the Jays success in the game.

The Jays are at home this weekend as their participate in the Prior Lake Hardball Invitational.  Their first game of the weekend will take place Friday night at 8:15 PM when they battle against St. Louis Park.

The Legion Lakers bring it home this Friday when they take on the Waterville Legion, 7:00 PM at Ponds 7 in Prior Lake.
