2007 Townball Seasons Set to Begin

The Prior Lake Mudcats 2007 Season begins Sat 4/28 when they travel to Cleveland for a 2PM non league game with the Condors. The Mudcats open their 2007 Dakota Rice Scott League and Home seasons on Sun 4/29 when they host the New Market Muskies at 2PM. The Mudcats advanced in 2006 DRS Playoffs for the 4th consecutive season and finished 4th in Region 3C losing to Lonsdale and will again be Managed by Greg Faue. The 'Cats have a 33 game schedule on tap which includes 22 in the DRS League and the Cannon Falls Tournament.

The Prior Lake Jays commence the 2007 Season on Sun 5/6 when they host the Belle Plaine Tigers in Carver Central League action starting at 2PM. The Jays did not advance from Pool play in Section 3B in 2006. Longtime Jays Assistant Coach Justin Braun will manage the Jays taking over for Darwin Busselman. The Jays have a 31 game schedule including 15 Section 3B seeding games.

PLABA Baseball Day is Sat June 30 when the Mudcats square against the PL Jays. Also highlighted for the 2007 season is doubleheader action on Sat May 12 (St Louis Park) and Sat June 23 (Stewartville) when our local nines have back to back games at Veterans Field in non league action. A new feature of the townball season in 2007 of note will the first All Star Game between the DRS and CCL on Friday June 13 at Shakopee potentially pitting local players against each other in the All Star format. Fans attending opening games for the Mudcats & Jays will be eligible for prize drawings, free popcorn for fans in team colors and all fans will receive coupons valid for admission to future games. Season passes will be on sale at the gate or from players for $15.
