Mudcats to Kick Off 2014 PL Townball Season 4/27
The MBA Class C Prior Lake Mudcats of the Dakota Rice Scott League will commence the 2014 townball season hosting Divisional foe the Montgomery Mallards Sunday April 27th at 200PM. There will be prize drawings and contests to celebrate the 2014 season opener. Season passes will also be available for $15. The Mudcats have a 30 game regular season schedule which includes the 2014 Miller Lite Invitational Tournament hosted by Green Isle & Hamburg. The Playoffs with be a best 2 of 3 “region” series seeded by regular season league play and 6 teams advancing to Region finals and 4 DRS teams advancing to MBA State Class c Championships.
“VetPASS14” is valid for ALL 2014 PL Mudcats and PL Jays home regular season baseball games and feature 1 complimentary item per month from the Vet Café, Veterans Field of Memorial Parks full service concession which features the Tastiest Wiener In Scott County(TM).
The Mudcats were 2nd in the DRS White Division in ’13 posting a 13-10 record. They went 1-1 in the Region play in 2013 capturing the #5 seed and eliminated by Faribault in the Region bracket. New Market, New Prague, Union Hill and St Benedict advanced to the MBA State Class C Tournament in 2013. New Prague finished in the final 16, with Sartell prevailing over Belle Plaine for the Championship. The 2014 alignment includes Division opponents St Patrick Irish, Montgomery Mallards and Veseli Warriors. The ‘Cats are seeking to follow up on their 2 consecutive trips to the MBA State Class C Tournament following the 2011 & 2012 seasons in 2014 which will be hosted by Belle Plaine and Jordan.
The Mudcats were started in 1991 and will be Managed by Greg Faue. the Mudcats best season finish was Final 16 in 2011 in MBA Class C.

PL Jays Baseball Starts its 28th Season May 4
The Prior Lake Jays will commence their 2014 season Sunday May 4 with a special 4PM start hosting the Jordan Brewers in River Valley League action. The opener will follow the PL Mudcats 1PM DRS game against the St Benedict Saints and admission will be valid for both games as well feature prize drawings and contests to celebrate the 2014 season opener. Season passes will also be available for $15.

The 2014 Jays have 26 games slated including 9 MBA Section 3B Seeding games versus the Shakopee Indians, Chaska Cubs and Victoria Vics to determine their opponent for a best of 5 series with the 2 series winners advancing to the MBA Class B State Championships hosted for Belel Plaine and Jordan. The Jays will also participate in the 2014 Elko New Market Budweiser Classic Tournament June 6-8. There will be announcements upcoming on special event nights for the 2014 season.
The Jays have been blanked in playoffs the past 2 seasons and an 11-21 record in 2013. Shakopee from Section 3B & the River Valley League was MBA Class B Runner Up to Cold Spring with Victoria going 0-2. Jordan & Belle Plaine of the RVL advanced to the MBA Class C Final 4 and Belle Plaine coming up short losing to Sartell in the Championship.
The 2014 PL Jays will be Managed by Mark Schroeder. The “new” Jays best finish was in 2009 when they were Runner Up to the Shakopee Indians in MBA Class B.
