IN WITH THE NEW. BRIGHTER NIGHTS FOR PRIOR LAKE BASEBALL AT VETERANS FIELD.
Honeywell Energy Services Group and Musco Sports-Lighting combined their services in providing the lighting upgrade for Memorial Baseball Field in Prior Lake. The existing baseball field lighting was outdated and in need of significant repairs. The Musco Light-Structure Green system was chosen to replace the existing lighting. The new lighting was designed to provide a more uniform light on the field and would substantially reduce unwanted glare light. Due to the limited budget, the light levels on the field were designed to be similar to the existing lighting which were under the current recommended levels for Town Ball and Legion levels of play. However, Honeywell and Musco Sports Lighting worked together to find a way to increase the light levels from 30 to 50 footcandles in the infield and from 20 to 30 footcandles in the outfield. The City of Prior Lake will now have a “first-class” lighting on Memorial Baseball Field.
The original lighting was financed by PL VFW Post 6208 in 1987. The existing poles were used for the lighting upgrade which will continue to serve Prior Lake teams for many years to come.
