The PL Jays have started strong in 2008 at 8-3 overall and had high hopes travelling to Chaska Athletic Park Friday 6/6 but were denied and promptly sent packing in a 14-4 loss to the host Cubs.  Tony Eicher got the nod on the hill and was both efficient and effective in holding Cub hitters with weak hits during his stint on the hill.  Marshall Mullenbach was tabbed to follow but was unable slow the Cubs who were effective in quality at bats and mixed 16 hits and got on base.  The Jays took the early lead 1-0 but dropped to 4-1 in the 4th then answered to pull to 5-4 before the Cubs pulled away bagging the quick win in 7 innings on a 2 out dropped ball in center and a Chaska hop over the Jays shortstops head to end the contest.  The Cubs scored all runs in the 4th-7th innings and Cubs pitcher Craig Gralapp mixed locations and was effective in going the distance. Adam Cress got his first action on the hill in 3rd relief for the Jays.  The Jays have defeated Green Isle & Victoria and lost to Shakopee, Victoria, Jordan and Chaska thus far in 3B Section Seeding games and have 9 more Section contests to improve upon recent 2 4-11 season records in the Section. The Jays now travel on Road DH 2008 stopping at some fine parks on Sunday 6/8 for 2:00PM RVL action at Fairfax followed by 6:30PM RVL action at Arlington.  Fans swarming to road games in 2008 should keep an eye out if in Team colors for concession coupons valid for home contests.  The HOTLINE is back up at 952-226-3800 for the latest scores and schedules for your local nines!
