DOWN THE STRETCH….PL Hardball Playoff Updates.

Laker Legion returns from 3-2 trip to Rapid City, SD to pound Faribault in District 3 American Legion baseball play-in game byt a score of 15-7 at Veterans Field in PL on Monday 7/19. Coach Bill Reed will lead the LakerLegion vs #1 Seed Lakeville North at 7PM in Chaska at the highly regarded District 3 American Legion double elimination playoffs with 3 of 16 teams advancing to the State Tournament in Hibbing. PL LakerLegion Update: Defeated 10-0 @ Chaska by Lakeville North, PL faces 4 elimination games to advance to the State American Legion Tournament starting with Eagan Thurs 7/22 400PM @ Chaska and with win would face the loser of W.St Paul/Forest Lake at Burnsvilles Alimagnet Park Fri 7/23 130PM. LAKER LEGION ELIMINATED 6-1 by EAGAN.

The PL Mudcats playoff is still in the balance with 2 DRS games remaining but in the 3rd slot behind Montgomery and Lonsdale who are fighting for #1 in the Blue Division with the ‘Cats travelling to Montgomery 7/21 for a 730PM tilt at the big empty, Montgomery Memorial Park. **Former Mudcat Bret Mitchell has had a strong start in the Mets Minor League system.

The PL Jays rebounded from 2 last inning losses to Jordan to take game 3 in the Section series 7-3 at Jordan Sunday have their remaining series with Shakopee (PL Thur 7/22 730PM *Lost 9-0, Shakopee Tahpah 7/23 730PM) to determine their playoff position playing a 2 of 3 series to advance to the Section 3B Final 4. They would need some help but unlikely to have tiebrakes needed for a top 2 position this season. Sunday July 25 6PM PL Jays VS Shakopee will be Caseys Corn Feast and Jays Alumni Day. It is also game 3 in their regular season series and a rematch of the 2009 MBA State Class B Championship. Fans in red shirt or offical Jays shirt will be admitted for $1.
