The Jays have bagged 6 straight wins and appear to be getting into form for playoffs in Section 4B under 1st year skipper Mark Schroeder but the format will not be set until an emergency section meeting takes place at Burnsville Alimagnet Park at 6PM Wednesday 7/27 prior to the Jays makeup contest VS Savage. 2 of the recent 6 game surge were forfeits by Inver Grove Heights. They gave notice of a 7/19 home game for the PL Jays that recent heat and games 2 prior days left them unable to field a team and in the 7/23 makeup date (from 7/9) the Jays showed up, 2 umpires showed up, but the iron 6 was all the Diamond Kings could muster to play the contest and forfeit was declared as the 5PM start time came and went. It was a surprising development for the red & black given the 13-12 12 inning result from June 4 in the Jays first Section contest against the Diamond Kings.
Inver Grove Heights does not have sufficient numbers of players to field a team for Section 4B and the meeting will confirm the format and schedule for the Section Tournament which was scheduled to begin at Veterans Field of Memorial Park in Prior Lake on Sunday 7/31. Stay tuned…
