The PL Jays took sole possession of 1st place in Section 3B with a dramtic 4-3 win over Victoria at Veterans Field in PL Friday 7/17.  The Jays, down 0-3, plated 3 in the 8th with the tie on a John Somrock suicide squeeze bunt that followed a 2RBI double by shortstop Kyle Zweber that scored Dusty Olynyk and Him Garceau.  Sam Hoppe knocked in Zweber for the win on a fielders choice that Vic attempted to throw home for the out.  Chris Swiatkiewicz struck out 8 and walked none in 8 innings work with Garceau facing 4 striking out 1 in the 9th.  The Jays travel to Chaska for 6PM action Sunday, join the corn feast and watch the Jays and Cubs square for the River Valley League Title.  The Jays conclude Section Seeding action at Green Isle Tuesday and are assured a top 3 finish in the Section and need to win to lock the bye in round one but regardless will have home field in the playoffs.  The jays picked up a game at Union Hill Wed 730PM and are trying to secure additional home action to conclude the regular season.

The PL Mudcats and New Prague Orioles fought a close 3-2 New Prague win in PL Thursday but the Mudcats playoff fate was determined with a Union Hill win which will square the 'Cats with a familiar foe, Veseli, when the Blue Division playoffs start in a couple week in 2 of 3 playoff series.  Home advantage is to be determined based on final games in the DRS this week.
