The Mudcats beat Mongtomery June 1 5-4 and June 3 3-1 to sweep regular series contests and win the best of 3 series in 2 straight to advance to Region play. #1 seed St Patrick Irish also closed our Shakopee 12-9 in Game 2 (@ PL Vet) of their series to advance in Regions in 2 straight.

Mudcats advance to Region 3C

The Prior Lake Mudcats have advanced to Region 3C play with a 4-2 victory over the Montgomery Mallards on Friday night to complete the sweep in DRS White Divisional Playoffs. The Mudcats will be the White #2 and the Region 3C #6 seed. The ‘Cats will host the New Market Muskies Friday night at 8:00 PM in Prior Lake.

Friday night saw the Mudcats jump out to a 2-0 lead in the second. Levi Schneider singled. Ryan Defries reached on an error putting runners at second and third. Schneider scored on a wild pitch, Defries to third. Mason Holmquist laid down a bunt for a hit to score Defries on a perfect suicide squeeze.

In the fourth inning, Tony Adderley led off with a hit by pitch, stole second, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Levi Schneider and scored on a wild pitch.

In the sixth inning, Tony Adderley again led off with a hit by pitch and stole second with one out. Holmquist walked, Gary Mariscal walked. Ben Morrison came to the plate and was hit by a pitch on a 3-2 count to score Adderley.

Montgomery finally was able to get two runs off starter Jake Schmidt in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jake was solid through six to pick up the win. Sean Greywitt pitched the final three innings for the save. Nick Reed and Tony Adderley had two hits a piece to lead the ‘Cats.
