The Prior Lake Mudcats wrapped up their 2023 campaign on the road with a 12-2 victory over the Faribault Lakers on Saturday night.
The ‘Cats scored 12 runs in the game’s first four innings, tallying 15 of their 18 hits during that same time.
Nick Allbee started for the Mudcats on the mound, providing six innings of support, allowing one run on three hits, walking seven, and striking out two. Allbee would be the losing pitcher for the game. Jake Schmidt provided one inning of relief, allowing one run and walking two.
Prior Lake’s bats were hard to contain; Cole Clausen led the team, going 4-for-5 with three singles and a double while knocking in two runs. Charlie Bredesen and Lance Behrens were were both 3-for-5. Bredesen had a double and 3 RBI. Jonny Houston, Alex Wattermann, Kyle O’Connor, Trevor Schrupp, and Bear Blaney each contributed an RBI and at least one hit.
The Mudcats finished with a record of 10-11 on the season but were ruled ineligible for postseason play due to a rules/points infraction.
