NCC Tourney To Feature PL Grads In OF

PL Lakers graduate, former Mudcat and current PL Jay Tony Doherty will be playing outfield  for the UMD Bulldogs when NCC Tourney play kicks off Thursday 5/11.  Doherty, a sophomore, was 6th best batter in the North Central Conference posting a .390 average in 123AB in regular season action. 

He was 9/10 stolen bases, scored 40 runs (1.03 RPG) and tallied 48 hits.  His on base % .462 was good for 7th in the League for 2006.  UMD came in as 3 seed at 8-11 in the Conference.  St Cloud State Huskies OF Kyle Johnson, Former PL Laker and Mudcat, wrapped up his Junior Season batting 2nd highest on the Huskies at .336 in 140AB.  Johnson tallied 47 hits, also 2nd on the 5th seeded (5-14) team in the NCC Tourney.  Johnson has opted to play for Union Hill this summer.
