Doherty Homers in Bulldog Win
Tony Doherty, Freshman OF for the UM Duluth Bulldogs, hit a 1 run homer, his collegiate first, in the Bulldogs recent 10-9 victory at Upper Iowa in non league collegiate action on 4/3.  Doherty has started in the outfield for the Bulldogs (9-9) in 6 games and seen action in 10/18 of UMDs 2005 games.  He is batting .269 in 26 AB scoring 9 runs with a .345 on base % and compiled 4 Sac and holds a perfect fielding % in early season action.  See more information at http://www.d.umn.edu/athletic/baseball/CurrentStats/umdbb17.htm#GAME.NCA.

Johnson Starts Strong For Huskies
St Cloud State Huskies win 6 straight as PL Mudcat Kyle Johnson continues his strong batting to start the collegiate season.  Johnson, who has started 10 games of the Huskies 17 games, is batting .324 in 34 AB.  He has tallied  7 RBI in 11 hits and 1 HR.  The Huskies are currently 9-8 in 2005.  Johnson is a Junior OF getting most of his field time in RF in his 2nd year as member of the SCSU varsity.  See more information at http://www.stcloudstate.edu/athletics/sports/stats/slicer.asp?p=baseball-teamcume.htm.

RCTC And Rob Tschimperle Underway for '05
Rob Tschimperle and the Rochester Community & Technical College Yellowjackets are 4-6 in the young season.  They host a big home stand April 8-10 hosting Vermillion, Central Lakes, St Cloud Tech, Vermillion & Itasca in Junior College baseball action.  No statistics are currently available for RCTC.  Tschimperle is pitching in his 2nd year of “juco” after spending last season with the Northland Community & Technical College.  See more information at http://www.roch.edu/dept/athletics/html/baseball/baseball_schedule-scores.html.

Hanson Hurls At Evangel U
The Evangel Crusaders are 14-16 thus far and PL Mudcat Andy Hanson has seen action pitching in 4 games with 3 starts compiling a 1-2 record in 14.1 innings pitched.  He's struck out 9 while surrendering 10 hits yielding a .270 opponent batting average.  The Crusaders are in the NAIA Heart of America Conference and located in Springfield, Missouri where Hanson is in his 2nd season.  See more information at http://www.evangel.edu/Athletics/Athletics.asp?Sport=Baseball.
