All sophomores, juniors and seniors,

Below is the Prior Lake Summer Baseball Questionnaire and Legion Registration Form. All sophomores, juniors and seniors are asked to fill out the questionnaire, even if they don’t plan on playing Legion baseball in Prior Lake in 2020.

Please fill out the form completely as this information will be used to help get a feel for the number of players for summer 2020.

Program Overview: Prior Lake Legion Baseball (summer baseball) is a community-based program, available to all Prior Lake-Savage district residents. For the 2020 summer season we are currently planning on having 2 teams, one Senior Legion team and one Junior Legion team. The Senior Legion team (commonly referred to simply as “Legion”) could potentially be made up of sophomores, juniors and seniors, while the Junior Legion team could potentially be made up of sophomores and some juniors (eligibility based on birthdate). These teams will be selected after a weekend tryout in early May. Playing high school baseball in the spring is not a requirement for participation. Players need to choose between legion baseball or club baseball during the summer, they cannot do both.

Takuma Padilla will be the Senior Legion Head Coach and Nate Sickmann will be the Junior Legion Head Coach.

Scheduling is still in the works but the tentative plan is for both teams to play approximately 20-25 regular season games, including 2 weekend tournaments.

Senior Legion games will tentatively start the week of June 8 and Junior Legion games will tentatively start the week of May 25.

The scheduled tournaments for the teams are as follows:

Senior Legion:
June 26-28 Mankato
July 10-14 Gopher Classic
*We host Gopher Classic pool play in PL Friday thru Sunday with further rounds at various metro sites Monday and Tuesday if we advance). The Gopher Classic is the biggest Legion tournament in the country with 96 teams coming from all over the country. We are lucky to be one of 16 pool play sites to showcase our park and our team.

Junior Legion:
June 19-21 Waconia
June 26-28 TBD

Playoffs tentatively begin the week of July 20. Full schedules will be shared once they are finalized and/or after teams are selected.

Cost: We are requiring that each player provide a $150 deposit along with registration if they plan to play in the program. This deposit check will be to hold the player’s spot within the program. The total player fee will be $300-$400 on top of the deposit if they are placed on a team. The player will have their initial deposit returned if they tryout and are released from the program.

Registration: The registration deadline is set for Friday February 14. To register, please complete the “Legion Registration” part of this form and send your $150 deposit check to:
