PL Laker Legion opened its 2009 Season dropping to Burnsville 11-3. Jake Pieper dropped a HR scoring Wasik for the early lead but the Lakers yielded a 9 run 4th that cost the game. Congrats to Pieper & Jared Wasik for their selection to the annual Lions All Star Series which is held in Chaska 6/19-20. Jeff Butler was selected as alternate. Laker Legion will HOST Lakeville N Monday 6/15 7PM , HOST Chaska 6/17 7PM and travel to Rosemount Thurs 6/18 6PM in District 3 American Legion baseball next week.
The PL Mudcats have run to 3 straight wins with their 6-1 Win over St Patrick Thurs 5/18. The 'Cats also took out Montgomery 3-1 last Friday and Webster 6-1 last Thursday and are once again the best looking .500 team in MBA Class C.
The PL Jays were dropped by Chaska 14-4 (5 innings) last Sunday 6/7 in a RVL 7 inning game and lost 5-2 in 12 innings in their Game 2 which counted both in RVL standings and Section 3B. Travis Johnson took the game 1 loss and Tim Garceau in relief of Kyle Zweber took it in game 2. Tony Doherty homered in both games. The Jays were dropped to 1-1 in Section 3B Seeding Games.
