The PL Mudcats bounced off a 5 game slide taking out the Webster Soxes 6-1 at the Vet on 6/4 for a big win. A complete game victory was recorded by Ryan White who fanned 5 and scattered 11 hits on the hill for the fish. While the D posted 3 errors, there were also some big plays and some key double plays that kept Webster down. Casey Johnson has 2 hits, a Sac Fly, RBI triple and RBI single and Kyle Hoover scored twice including a tag up from 3B on a foul out to first to pace the 'Cats offense. The Mudcats will take their game on the road travelling to Montgomery to face the Mallards at 730PM 6/5 at Montgomerys Memorial Park. The PL Jays downed the Green Isle Irish in the opening game of Section 3B seeding games (10 Total) for 2009. The game was a tight pitching dual in the early innings until the Jays swarmed for 6 in the 5th to take a 7-1 lead for Rookie Pitcher Kyle Zweber who yielded 1 hit. The key play was a GI error on a hit by 3rd baseman John Somrock that cleared the bases. Multiple great plays by the red and black in support of Zweber and Marshall Mullenbach (8th & 9th) led to a 10-4 final score. NEXT ACTION: The Jays will host the Chaska Cubs at 4PM on Sunday 6/7 in a 7 inning RVL game which will be followed by a 9 inning Section 3B Seeding tilt at about 615PM. 2 Games for the price of 1! Coach Bill Reed's LakerLegion kicks of the 2009 Season Friday 6/5 at 6PM HOSTING Lonsdale at Veterans Field of Memorial Park after an extended PL Laker high school season concluded Tuesday in the Lakers Section Finals loss to Eden Prairie 5-4. The Lakers, 22-6, set a school record for wins and will have some new faces on board for the Summer 2009 American Legion baseball season. DJ Texan will be on the mic, the tastiest wiener in Scott County will be served in the full service concession and as always, LakerLegion does not charge admission. The program has turned the corner an looks to break through the deep quality in District 3 to the State American Legion Baseball Tournament in 2009! Montgomery Lonsdale is still in high school playoffs which cancels the Legion contest but the LakerLegion will be working out and having an interquad scrimage with workout at 415, scrimage at 530.
