“Vet” Expands With Addition to PLAY Storage.

Veterans Field of Memorial Park has a new addition this Fall. PLAY has grown beyond its storage needs which has allowed part of the storage building beyond right field to be re-purposed for PLABA use. The building has been partitioned and exterior door added to allow storage of the PLABA mower and field drag/golf cart which had been covered and stored outside being moved in the off season for storage. The move will better protect the equipment as well allow on site support and maintenance. Special thanks from PLABA to Randy Geister of PLAY as well PL Lakers & Jays baseball alumni Tommy Thompson and Kirk Loehr of Double T Construction and Action Overhead Garage Door respectively for their assistance in coordinating the improvements at Veterans Field. The shed was constructed as part of the parks referendum which resulted in the concessions/bathrooms building/patio in 1998 and replaced a building that was located just around the RF corner and had served as a warming house in “downtown Prior Lake” and was moved to Memorial Park for PLAY usage. The fencing was updated following last season in preparation for the update by the City of Prior Lake. The PLABA has led park improvements since the creation of the Prior Lake Jays in 1987 and Prior Lake Mudcats in 1991.
