Local area teams from the River Valley League (Region 6C and Section 3B) and Dakota Rice Scott League (Region 3C) representing MBA Classes B & C kick off the 2016 93rd Annual MBA Class B & C State Tournaments hosted by Hutchinson, Dassel and Litchfield Aug 19-21, 26-28 and Sept 2-5 concluding with Champions crowned on Labor Day.
The MBA Class B Tournament is a 16 team bracket with 1st round single elimination and double elim 8 team final bracket with Shakopee Indians and Chaska Cubs representing Section 3B. Both teams went to 5 games in Section Finals best of 5 series with Shakopee defeating Chanhassen and Chaska defeating Victoria (who had beaten the PL Jays 2 games to 1 in 1st round Section 3B playoffs).
The MBA Class C Tournament is single elimination 32 teams in 1st round play and 16 teams, #1 Region seeds, receiving a bye to the 2nd round. The PL Mudcats (Region 3C #1 seed) will face the winner of Hanska/Loretto (8/21 230P) in week 2 Sunday August 28 at 1100AM at Hutchinson while the Gaylord Islanders (Region 6C#1 seed) will square with the winner of Roseau/Winsted (8/19 730p) playing on Saturday August 27 130PM at Hutchinson.
