-PLABA Veterans Field Improvements for 2017

Baseball fans will note additions and improvements to their experience at Veterans Field in 2017. The now familiar “fan table” spools have been replaced by the City of Prior Lake. The replacements are a commercial grade product made from recycled plastic and should provide many years of use as PLABA found that the painted cable spools had started to deteriorate from the elements. PLABA hopes to add umbrellas to enhance the look and fan experience for fans.

Former PL Laker standout pitcher Nick Hanson was been recognized as the 2016 Gatorade Minnesota Player of the Year and the accomplishment recognized with a display banner at Veterans Field. Hanson, a 3rd round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 is in rehab from an arm injury and has PLABAs best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to rejoin the Reds. Hanson had been committed to the University of Kentucky prior to the draft and professional offer.

The PLABA also has continued Vet improvements with upgrades & repairs to public address speakers (which had blown tweeters & fuse) and popcorn machine in the Vet Cafe which had extensive issues addressed. Additional updates and improvements will be expected for 2017, stay tuned…
