Legion Baseball Tryouts

Dear Players/parents of sophomores, juniors, and seniors that will be trying out for the Prior Lake American Legion Baseball team. Tryouts will be held Saturday April 11th 11:00AM on Ryan Field #1 please arrive a half hour early to check-in and get stretched and warmed up.  This tryout is mandatory for anyone who wants to play Legion baseball this 2009 season.

If you have not signed up yet, please do so ASAP, you can get the form off the website at www.priorlakelegionbaseball.org and click on the Summer 2009 Registration Form link on the middle of the page. I have also attached the form and handbook.

You will also need to click on the “Tryouts” tab on the site: read, review, and both player and parent will need to sign the acknowledgement sheet which is the last page of the 2009 Player Handbook and bring this with you and turn it in at check-in.  All info can be located on the website.

Pitchers: Anyone trying out as a pitcher, this portion will take place immediately after all the other skills have been completed. If the temperature is not above 65 degrees the pitching portion will be held at Kirk Loehr’s shed located at 2525 180th ST, Prior Lake, 30 minutes after the tryouts are completed.

Players will be graded out on the following skills.

·         Hitting – batting practice and live work

·         Defensive ability infield and outfield live work

·         Arm strength

·         Speed – 60 yd. dash

·         Pitching – bullpens and live work

·         Catching –blocking skills and pop-time

·         Overall athletic ability

·         Attitude Effort and Commitment to the team!!!
