The Prior Lake Mudcats beat the Shakopee Coyotes 17-6 on Friday May 16th. The Mudcats led 7-4 going into the 9th when they put up 10 runs to put the game away. Leading the 18 hit attack was Casey Johnson and Brad Schoenrock with three hits a piece. Ben Schmidt, Bret Mitchell, and BJ Benz had two hits a piece with a triple for Ben and a double for BJ. Schoenrock had 4 rbi's in the contest. The pitching was solidified by the relief work of Jake Schmidt with 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and eight strikeouts for his second win of the season.
The Mudcats traveled to Elko on Sunday and lost 8-0 to the Express. The 'Cats managed just two hits on the day off of Brian Muell. One each by Ryan Defries and Greg Faue. Ryan White took the loss as he pitched well getting out of trouble in the early innings. Elko scored three in the first, added one in the fourth, one in the seventh, and three in the eighth.
