The PLABA will be signature sponsor of Prior Lake Laker Alumni Night at Veterans Field of Memorial Park in Prior Lake. Friday May 17 the Lakers are hosting a doubleheader in South Suburban Conference action VS. Eastview. JAYS TO HOST OPEN GOLF TOURNEY 5/18

The Jays welcome friends, alumni and local baseball supporters of all abilities to Creeks Bend Golf Course in New Prague for the opportunity to get their name on the cup as Champs of the recently resurrected event (3rd annual 2013). There will be raffle drawings and a post golf social. Auction items include 4 tickets to Twins Champions Club for a game, residential fire pit among others and there will be games on the course for prizes. JAYS POST 2ND 2013 WIN IN LESUEUR
The PL Jays opened their 2013 road season travelling to LeSeuer Sunday 5/12 with a 1-0 record having defeated Belle Plaine 9-3 on May 5. The Jays would be tested to the limit stranding 9 runners against a 5 pitcher Braves battery. There was 1 run plated by host LeSeuer in the 1st inning with no action by either team until the 8th inning. A key early defensive stop was recorded in the LeSeuer 3rd inning when, with 2 men on, a single to right field was gathered by the Teen Wolf Adam Cress who threw home to a waiting Sam Hoppe who deposited the runner to the dirt after recording the out. The Jays plated 3 of their 4 runs in the 8th frame wih Dusty Olynyk reaching on balls and Kyle Zweber getting drilled, firstbaseman Scott Geisler laced a bunt down 3B line past the pitcher who gathered the ball turned and fired….to nobody scoring Olynyk & Zweber. Geisler would score on a sac fly to left by catcher Sam Hoppe. The host Braves answered to tie the game at 3-3 after plating 2 on 3 Jays errors, 1 hit and 1 hit batter. The Jays remaining & winning run was a solo clout by relief pitcher deep to left center power alley over the ivy covered LeSeuer outfield fence in the top of the 9th. Goblirsch (2IP, 3 hit, 0 ER, 0BB, 2K) releived tenderfoot Pat Galvin (2IP, 1 run 3 hit 2 BB, 2K) and Kyle Zweber (5IP, 2 hit, 0 runs, 2 BB, 7K) to bag with win on the hill and GWRBI to push the Jays RVL & season record to 2-0. Doherty 2-5, Geisler 2-3, Run, RBI, 2B and Hoppe 2-3, RBI, 2B paced the Jays offensive attack. RVL Standings: (CLICK HERE)

MUDCATS BOUNCE BACK FROM SATURDAY LOSS TO TOP FARIBAULT IN WILD GAME.

The PL Mudcats were dropped in Sat 5/11 fishfight at New Market Muskies on a blustery day at Hillside park by a score of 6-1. On Sunday 5/12 the hosted Faribault in DRS action and prevailed 15-14 in 10 innings. The Mudcats outlasted Faribault thanks to a big day from Ben Morrison. Morrison tied the game in the 9th on a two run homer with two outs and Levi Schneider on second. Faribault rallied from down 11-3 after 6 innings. Ryan Archambeault had a big double to drive in two runs. In the game Jay Ellerbach homered in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-2. Levi Schneider homered in the fifth. In the 9th, Levi Schneider hit a one out double and Morrison homered with two outs. The winning run scored in the tenth on a leadoff single by Jake Schmidt. He was bunted to second by AJ Mee. Schmidt took third on a groundout. With two outs Cole Bjorge hit a ball up the middle and beat it out for a game winning single. Starter Ryan White struck out 7 in 5 innings. Jake Schmidt struck out 6 batters in the final three innings.
