Mudcats split games during week

The Mudcats dropped a 3-2 decision to Faribault Monday. The Cats won on Wednesday night over Shakopee 4-3.

Faribault pushed across the winning run on leadoff walk in the 9th. A sacrifice attempt resulted in a throwing error to the outfield and a throwing error back in and the winning run scored.

The Mudcats jumped out early and held on as Shakopee rallied late. Mudcat miscues gave away two runs in the 7th. Jake Schmidt pitched the first innings for the win. Ben Morrison came in in the ninth with runners at first and third and one out. A ground ball to third and Tony Adderly to Casey Johnson to Justin Schliep turned the doubleplay to end the game. A much needed win as the Mudcats head into action this weekend.
