“Snow” Kidding, Lakers & Mudcats Poised to Open 2018 Seasons.

LAKERS SLATED TO KICK OFF 2018 HOME SEASON FRIDAY 4/27.

The late Spring has triggered another change to PL Lakers home opener. The latest (posted 4/25) will have the Lakers opening at Rosemount Thursday 4/26 and HOSTING Rosemount at Veterans Field of Memorial Park Friday 4/27 with a 430PM 1st pitch. Recent warm weather has helped the diamond but deep center & left field still have snow & ice with the balance of the diamond still frozen below the surface inhibiting draining to allow safe play. With recent rule changes at the state level incorporating a “pitch count“, it will be interesting to follow how teams adjust to maximize and find success with increased emphasis on efficiency to enable top pitchers to help the cause over the shortened 2018 season.
